The Google BLOOP: A New Term in SEO
One of the most talked about terms in SEO these days across various forums is BLOOP.
Often mentioned in various threads, the BLOOP is an acronym for Back Link Over Optimization Penalty.
The penalty is indeed imposed when you have too many back links with identical anchor text. This is when it gets tagged as BLOOP!
Webmasters have been expressing their frustration regarding this, saying their vendors indulged in horrible link building which resulted in terrible BLOOP Penalties.
The only way to avoid these is remove the links that have already been built.
First thing first, stop chasing links irrelevant to your business. It is pointless obsessing about back links not even remotely connected to your business. Those who do it get hit by the penalty.
